Hey Jim,

Just finished building this 1993 Bontrager Race Lite 8 speed in plenty O time for Halloween. Rescued the frame cheap from ebay, stopped the rust, replaced the decals with a one off from my stash (head badge is "in the mail"), and dressed it as follows:

From 1995:
Manitou FSX fork, Avid Arch Supremes, White hubs, King headset, Race Lite post, Flite saddle, Grip shifter, Bontrager Valiant ceramic rims.

From 2006:
Shimano LX rapid rise RD tending a12-34 cassette, Sugino cranks (32t chainring), Crank Bros pedals, Kore stem, and On One Mary bar.

The rear GRIP shifter, which works great with rapid rise, is on the left so I can pre-shift while coasting and scrub speed with the *rear* brake. The Mary bars are like Jones bars in that their sweep positions one's hands in their natural external rotation. But, they cost 80% less, accept all shifting systems, and have the right rise and bends so no stem change is required.

Time for the maiden voyage...

Enjoy,

Cary
