Attached are pictures of my new old bike. This is a Specialized Sirrus from the late 80's I believe. I picked it up on Ebay for $45, and love the way it rides. The bike is primarily stock, but I have done a few things to put my own style into it.

It is a 58cm steel frame with Shimano 105 components. I swapped the 105 aero brake levers for some older dia-compe non-aero levers. I also added a well used Brooks B-15 saddle, which I have quickly learned to appreciate for its comfort. I wrapped the original handlebars in Cinelli cork tape to complete the somewhat vintage look. I really like the bike but wish the specialized graphics were not neon. IÕd like to eventually repaint the frame and fork. IÕve been considering adding some fenders, but the frame has no eyelets, so IÕm looking for an acceptable solution.

I've just recently completed the build up on the bike and have only used it around the neighborhood for short rides and to pull my kids in the Chariot carrier. I live in The Woodlands, Texas, just north of Houston. The roads are mostly flat here, so the traditional race gearing on the bike works pretty well. I spend most of my time on a Surly Pacer, but really like the ride of this older bike as well.

Anyway, I hope you like it!
