Hello cyclofiend.

Great website. My wife thinks I'm a dork but I spend a fair amount of time looking at these bikes for ideas about my build, which is finally about done.

Here it is:

2005 SOMA Smoothie ES size 48 cm
Independent Fabrications fork, long reach from auction
FSA Orbit Headset
FSA Omega shallow reach oversize bars, removed the black anodize
Cinelli natural Cork bar tape shellac'd with 6 coats
Thomson X2 100 mm stem
Silver Japanese bell mounted on a headset spacer from Velo Orange
SRAM compact crankset with overboard bearings
Dura Ace 9 Speed group with 12-27 cassette
Tektro long reach brakes
Crank Bros Acid pedals
Ksyrium SL wheels with decals removed
Panaracer Pasela 700 x 32 tires
Honjo hand hammered 43 mm extra long fenders from Velo Orange
Fizik Aliante sport saddle re-covered in brown leather
Gilles Berthoud seat bag

I'm just getting interested in Randonneuring and have Paris Brest Paris 2011 as a goal. So far I'm riding this around town and commuting to work. Future plans are to get a rear rack, pack work clothes and ride to work as much as possible.
