Hi Jim:

Attached please see photos of my 1988 Bridgestone MB-1, bought new in January 1989 at Montlake Cycles in Seattle for $800!

As you can see, it is currently on its' second life as my "do whatever I want it to do" bike. I constantly tweak it in hopes of finding the more perfect machine; it's not all "period correct," but it sure does work.

Some of the components are stock:
Shimano Deore XT cranks with Biopace 46-36-26 chainrings, XT F & R Derailleurs, XT cantilever brakes and pedals, Strong seatpost, XT 36h sealed hubs with qr skewers and Araya 26" rims.

And some are new:
Nitto Moustache bar and Dirtdrop stem fitted with Cane Creek brake levers, Silver bar-end shifters, Cateye Enduro computer and Light & Motion headlight. A 30-13 7-speed rear cluster, Selle Anatomica Titanico saddle w/slot, Continental Travel Contact 26 x 1.75 tires under SKS fenders, Tubus Racks, and a selection of Schmidt and Cateye tail lights round things out.

You run a marvelous site that has provided me with endless inspiration.

Thank you.

Mike Havran
