             Hello
              fellow fixed wheel afficionados!
            I
present to you my new fixed road bike lovingly silver brazed by
Hugh Black at True North Cycles ( www.truenorthcycles.com
              )
            I
had in my mind a do anything road bike with horizontal drops, clearance
for biggish tires and fenders for foul weather days and rides.
            I
needed custom because i have ridiculously long legs and not so long
torso (hence the 60 cm ST and 56 TT)
            I've
always loved the look of lugs, and really wanted a combination of
new and old, the best of the late 70's (clearance and aesthetics)
              but with more modern components
            So
              here it is. Parts
as it sits now are a blend of modern and not so modern.
            The
frame is silver brazed with Pacenti Pro lugs, a custom Pacenti downtube,
flared at the BB lug for stiffness, top tube is Columbus Foco, Seat
tube is True Temper Platinum, chainstays are True Temper Platinum
and the seatstays are good old Reynolds 531. The fork crown is a
Richards Sachs, with the requisite hearts, diamonds, spades and
clubs on the fork reinforcing tangs. The paint job is awesome, I
had Hugh's painter do it in a nice gloss black, then Hugh himself
did the lug lining in red, then back to the painter for some clear
              coat.
            I
wanted it to match the Ksyrium ES wheels that will eventually live
on this when i convert it to a geared road bike (later in the year
as I'm really enjoying the ride right now.) as well as the red Richard
Sachs Selle San Marco Regal saddle.
            Gearing
is 42x16, crank is an older SR Royal , rear cog is surly, rear wheel
is an '84 Campy Record laced to a Mavic MA 40, front is currently
              Ksyrium ES.

Fenders and a honkin' 'welcome' friend friendly rear mudflap ('cause
you're welcome to draft!) keep me and my riding buddies clean.
            NOS
dia compe standard reach brake. 105 levers with white(ish) hoods
              make it stop.
            The
tires are the beautiful, supple, light (under 300 g!) 700x30 Grand
Bois Cypres' which I love for the kind of riding I do, lot's of
dirt, gravel and rough Quebec roads.
            So
              there you are.
