I converted my old GT MTB to a single speed street bike, using the original for,front wheel, brakes, BB. I removed my 3rd ring, using my middle ring (36t). I removed the teeth and filed down my front ring (Was a 42t). I bought a used rear wheel (26"), new 16t sprocket, my LBS (Bike Works, on Mississippi) assembled the sprocket, spacer and rear wheel. It is fast and tight. I love riding it at night....
