Hi,

My Thorn Commutour; essentially it's a road bike with clearance for mudguards and bigger tyres made by using smaller wheels - 26". It was designed to run geared or fixed, I use it for commuting and touring (sorry I didn't come up with the lousy name), and training. I originally ran it with gears, but it wasn't anything special. Fixed, it's a blast, the short wheel base and small wheels are perfect for flying along tow paths and dirt tracks.

Frame is fillet brazed Reynolds 525 which is OK, it's stiff and light enough (notice the shot-in stays and horizontal drop-outs). Kit is nothing fancy; On-One rear hub and 14t sprocket on Sun CR18, generic cheapo front wheel, Campag Victory chainset (40t), Nitto noodles and B17. Oh, and dreadful Dia Compe mini-V brake up front.

Thanks, Chris.
