This is probably the first thing that made me stop and stay at the Ahearne Cycles booth. I'm reasonably sure there isn't a speck of "rational" need or functional value for this, but it looks absolutely cool and it is something I've never seen another framebuilder do (not to say they haven't - just I haven't seen it...). Ahearne does a wide range of custom "city"/porteur style racks - either custom fit to your fork or with enough adjustable bits to get it to work. They are extremely well executed, with U-lock side pockets and nicely sized for the needs you have.
