Scored the 55cm Raleigh Competition GS frameset on eBay. After cleaning it up, I de-badged it steel wool and a spraycan of enamel, leaving the lugwork and the nearly-illegible Reynolds stickers alone. Then I hung mostly leftover parts on it: a scuffed Brooks Pro saddle on a Laprade fluted post, an 80Ős Dura Ace crank with a 42t ring, MKS touring pedals, a Cinelli stem, and a Modolo Speedy caliper up front. The cheap-o wheelset came from eBay, too: Suze Track hubs, black Ritchey Aero rims, and an 18t DA cog. I added a cheap BMX freewheel on the other side so I can loan it out to people, and tucked Schwalbe Marathon 28Ős under 35mm Esge fenders. The chopped NYCB boomerang bars with cork grips complete the vaguely chimneysweep vibe.
